Thank you so much for stopping by our pre-cut friendly shop! We're a new small business that opened in January 2012 and we are excited to provide you with an array of the latest pre-cuts!
For those of you that follow my blog (www.QuiltingInTheRain.blogspot.com), you'll know that i'm a fabri-holic from Seattle that started by blogging about my love for fabric and posting quilting tutorials along with pictures of my two Corgis (aka my 'furry children'). I work full time in the biotech industry with an 8-5 office job, so blogging has been an outlet for expressing my creative side. I am very happily married to my husband Ben, who has supported my love for fabric and the quilting craft from day one...he bought me my first sewing machine even though I didn't care for one at the time, encouraged me to start the blog, put up with my fabric hoarding addiction (i'm sure some of you can relate ;) ...the list goes on and on...without his consistent love, encouragement and support, Quilting in the Rain would not be possible!
My love for quilting and the gorgeous textiles that inspire me to quilt and create patterns started in 2007: I walked into a local fabric boutique and immediately got the quilting bug. From there I became a self proclaimed fabric addict. I took a couple basic quilting classes and combined it with self-teaching. Making a quilt from start to finish can be very daunting, but once I learned the craft (after one too many trials and errors), my excitement made me want to teach others how doable it is. I also felt that I could share some tricks and tips I learned from being a self-taught quilter. I've been blogging since April 2010 and continue to share tutorials with simple quilt patterns.
My obsession for beautiful textiles made me wish I had more time to quilt. As most of you can probably relate, my fabric stash was growing exponentially yet I had no quilts to show for it! That's when I discovered pre-cut fabrics (i.e. jelly rolls, charm packs, layer cakes, etc.) which allowed me to Cut Less and Sew More! Even with a full time job, I was busting out quilts like a mad woman! With gorgeous textiles AND pre-cuts as an inspiration for quick quilt patterns, I started designing simple and fast patterns which i've shared, and continue to share, on my blog. Fabrics and my love for pre-cuts consumed me, and eventually led to www.QuiltingInTheRain.com!
Like I've found inspiration through pre-cuts, beautiful textiles and simple and fast patterns, I hope my shop acts as a gateway to inspire creativity in you as well!
